Microsoft To Stop Selling XP In 2008
Jun 7th, 2007 by Martin
This is a disaster! Windows Vista is rubbish, and I can’t see it getting any better for quite a while. As it’s rubbish Microsoft has decided to force Vista on people by stopping the production of XP next February.
In February computer shops will no longer be able to sell computers with XP on them, you will also not be able to buy boxes with XP, which includes all versions of Windows XP. I have talked about Vista before in my blog and it’s merits or lack of. Here’s an interesting fact for you 12% of US respondents expressed any interest in moving to windows Vista, 79% of these people were using XP on their home PC’s.
Microsoft has denied that the company was phasing out XP as part of a strategy to increase sales of Vista. What a load of bollocks!
Please note if you were a beta tester of Vista your software will not work after 1st June 2007, however you will get a discount off Vista, well if you buy the most expensive Ultimate edition. Good work on giving back to the community Micromoney.
This is Microsoft’s way to force their customers to buy their new product because Vista is such garbage and not any better than XP. Thanks for the info I didn’t know this was happening this fast lol.
I think they’ll manage to make Vista as good as XP by this time next year. Or, someone will have figured out a way to make it behave the same. In my opinion, Windows 98 2nd Edition was probably the most stable OS Microsoft has made to date.
Hi Ed Kohler, I think it’s not just the case of making Vista better, yes that is a problem, but having the fast enough hardware. Especially enough ram as you need at least 2 gig to have a smooth operation in Vista.
That really sucks… I love XP.
